Wir waren fleißig... - We´ve been busy...

...the last three Friday afternoons. The kids embroidered, painted, wrote and printed. After the squares, made by Jakob and his 19 classmates, had been finished I put them together, made a sandwich and quilted the piece. Well, here is the result:
180 cm x 130 cm
I had embroidered the kids´ names before our meetings so that they only had to stitch the straight outline, applique their favorite motif and leave their hand print on the border.
Look at the difference between the surrounding stitches above and below. You wouldn´t consider it possible but the second one is my son´s.

For both, their teacher and our pastor, who teaches religious education in grade 3 and 4, each child also created a little letter with a foto and a personal message. You can´t imagine how affecting some of these letters are. I thought they needed a special album and so I did some scrapbooking the last two days.
the kneeling boy says: " It wasn´t me! "
Above, the one for their teacher and below, the one for our pastor.

Vielen Dank nochmal, Carin.
Last but not least I will, finally, show you the give-away that I won on Carin´s blog a couple of weeks ago. Isn´t it wonderful? Thanks again, dear Carin.

Passt gut auf Euch auf - take care, Britta

Ich mache mir meinen eigenen BOM - I will make my own BOM

Seht selbst...
This is the decision I made while visiting a quilt and needlework  fair last weekend. Even after hours I couldn´t find a "fast" project that I really liked. Instead of compromising about a bad alternative I bought some really wonderful, inspiring fabric which will probably make it quite easy to come up with an own design. But first I will spend another while on continuing the compass quilt which seems to take a quite different shape. Have a look...

Well, I would´ve loved to show some further pictures of the quilt and of what I won on Carin´s blog but somehow Blogger doesn´t manage to upload the fotos.
Next Friday the kids and I will start working on the fare well quilt for their teacher. I really look forward to the fun we will definitely have while playing with colorful fabric and fabric colors. I hope I will then be able to post some fotos again. Have a great week,
Britta
